NHHEAF Network Will Not Seek Renewal of Federal Student Loan Servicing Contract
Nonprofit to enhance focus on supporting New Hampshire students and families
CONCORD, N.H. – In order to better fulfill its purpose of empowering students of all ages and backgrounds to discover and achieve their education and career goals, the nonprofit New Hampshire Higher Education Association Foundation (NHHEAF) Network will not seek or accept renewal of its federal student loan servicing contract, whose statement of work expires Dec. 31.
While supporting students and borrowers remains central to the NHHEAF Network’s mission, winding down its federal student loan servicing operations will provide the opportunity to deepen longstanding public service efforts in New Hampshire as well as enhance its nationwide education financing and borrower support through EDvestinU, its private student loan product.
Formed in 1962, the New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation offered $500 student loans to 23 students in the state during its first year in operation. Since that time, the NHHEAF Network has evolved to support the federal government as a student loan guarantor and a federal loan servicer, provide free post-secondary counseling and support to New Hampshire students and families, and offer EDvestinU throughout the country.
