Granite Edvance opens summer term scholarship window for two-year and trade school students

January 20, 2026

Concord, NH – Granite Edvance’s two-year and trade-school scholarship for summer term students is now open. Students enrolling in two-year programs or Title-IV eligible trade schools this summer are invited to apply for scholarships now through April 1.

“Summer is a wonderful time to take advantage of all our community colleges and trade schools around the state have to offer,” said Christiana Thornton, President and CEO of Granite Edvance, a statewide nonprofit that helps students plan and pay for college and careers. “We know that the first step toward college or a career change is sometimes a leap of faith, and we hope our scholarship can make that leap a little easier.”

Granite Edvance’s scholarship for summer term students is new this year. Last fall, the organization opened additional application windows for its two-year and trade-school scholarships in an effort order to better support students in pursuing education goals throughout the year. Earlier this month, Granite Edvance awarded $30,000 to 21 two-year and trade-school students for the 2026 spring semester.

“Promoting access to education and training programs is a critical part of our mission,” Thornton said. “Through discussions with our partners around the state, we’ve identified an opportunity to further support students by aligning our scholarship program with the different timelines students follow as they pursue their goals.”

The current scholarship window is open to NH residents studying at two-year and Title IV-eligible trade schools in or out of state. Up to $30,000 in scholarships will be awarded in this application window, in amounts up to $1,000 for trade school students and up to $1,500 for two-year program students. The scholarship application window closes on April 1, and awardees will be notified in mid April.

The next round of scholarships for two-year and trade school students will open in mid-February and close in early July. The annual scholarship program for students in four-year programs will open in mid-February and close in early May.

Granite Edvance has provided scholarships to hundreds of New Hampshire college students since the program began in 2005. Over the last five years, the organization has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships.

“This scholarship will help me fund a much-needed career change and set me up for future success and happiness,” said Laura Shaw, a student at Nashua Community College and recipient of a 2025 Granite Edvance Scholarship.
