Granite Edvance opens fall scholarship for NH college and trade-school students
Concord, NH – Granite Edvance is offering up to $740,000 in scholarships to NH college and trade-school students for the coming school year, delivering on its mission of helping students find and fund their future pathways. Scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 will be awarded to NH residents studying at two- and four-year colleges and Title IV-eligible trade schools in or out of state.
“Our scholarship program is incredibly meaningful to us because we see the difference it makes for so many students in pursuing their dreams,” said Granite Edvance President and CEO Christiana Thornton. “As a mission-focused nonprofit, we are committed to supporting NH students while contributing to the future of our state, and our scholarship program demonstrates that commitment.”
Granite Edvance has provided scholarships to hundreds of New Hampshire college students since the program began in 2005 and has substantially increased its award amounts in recent years. This fiscal year, the organization anticipates awarding $800,000 in scholarships, once again increasing its total award amount. Over the past five years, Granite Edvance has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships.
The annual scholarship for four-year students is open through Wednesday, May 6. Students enrolled or planning to enroll in a four-year college for the fall semester can apply for scholarships of up to $3,000.
Scholarships for two-year and trade-school students are now offered three times a year, to increase access to funding for students on varied timelines. The fall-term scholarship for two-year and trade-school students is open through Wednesday, July 8. Students enrolled or planning to enroll in a two-year or trade-school program for the fall semester can apply for scholarships of up to $1,500.
“This was such a big help to me and my family as we prepared to take on the financial costs of college,” said Oren Gallagher of Hancock, one of more than 300 students to receive a Granite Edvance Scholarship in 2025. “Thank you so much for awarding me this scholarship toward my education at the University of New Hampshire.”
Students can apply for scholarships in four categories: Leadership & Community Service, Academic Excellence, First Generation College Student, and Life Experience. Scholarship recipients will be chosen by a committee of Granite Edvance team members. Four-year scholarship recipients will be notified in July, and two-year/trade-school recipients will be notified in August.
