Choose your own adventure

After the first two sessions you can decide how you’d like to spend the final two hours. You can attend the college fair, have lunch on campus, and take a campus tour. Alternatively, you can attend a third session. Due to the day’s schedule, attending the third session may only leave enough time to participate in one final event. Please choose the option which gives you and your family the most value!

Session I

  • Higher education is constantly evolving. Join New Hampshire college admission professionals to hear first-hand how the latest updates affect your admission journey, get advice about the application process, and gain an understanding of the criteria reviewed in the process of admission.

  • Every dollar counts when it comes to paying for college. In this workshop, a panel of financial aid and scholarship professionals will demystify the financial aid process and share everything you need to know about searching and applying for scholarships.

  • This workshop will highlight the many opportunities for college students to enhance their learning opportunities with study away experiences. Whether you would like to study away from your home campus for a week, month, or full semester or you wish to attend college as an international student full-time, come learn more about the experiences available to you.

  • Campus visits are one of the most exciting parts of the college search process. When researching potential schools, getting on campuses is one of the best ways to figure out if they might be a good fit. In this workshop, a panel of college admission professionals shares helpful tips to ensure you are taking full advantage of your time at each school.

  • Preparing for college is an exciting time, but also a major transition for both students and their support system. This workshop is designed to help parents, guardians, and caregivers navigate this journey, while providing meaningful student-centered support to their college-bound student.

  • Representatives from New Hampshire community colleges offer information and advice about program opportunities, positive financial impacts, and the many advantages of earning an associate degree. If you are thinking about continuing your education to earn a bachelor’s degree the panel will share information about the transfer application process, making sure your credits will transfer, and working with advisors to make the transition seamless.

This session will help students think about their interests, skills, and long-term goals connected to a career and academic pathway. Panelists will share tools to help a student identify interests and aptitudes which may lead to educated career and major choices.

  • Creating a college list that is right for you takes time and planning. Join our panel of experts to learn how to navigate your college choices, have productive conversations, utilize your resources, weigh your needs and wants, and make the most of the college exploration process.

  • This workshop explores how a purposeful gap year can help students gain clarity, confidence, and real-world experience before college. Join a panel of experts to learn what a gap year is (and isn’t), common options to consider, how colleges view gap years, how to plan one intentionally to support future academic and career goals, and to help you decide if this option is right for you.

  • Are you deciding whether you would like to continue participating in your sport in college? Join our panel of college athletic professionals, including a college coach and NCAA compliance official, as well as a current college athlete to learn about recruitment strategies and eligibility requirements. Plus, hear about what life is really like for NCAA student athletes.

  • Destination College concludes with a college fair. If this is the first college fair you are attending, learn how college fairs provide a valuable opportunity to explore schools, connect with admission representatives and organizations, and gather important information about your future.
