Got questions about Granite Edvance private student loans? We’ve got answers

The student loan process involves more than just paperwork. It’s also about understanding the system, making informed choices, and feeling confident in those decisions. Here are some of the top questions our Customer Experience team fields:
1. “Do I have to submit a new application every semester?”
Not necessarily! We can lend for up to one academic year at a time. If you’re looking for funding for both fall and spring semesters, you can select “Fall 2025 and Spring 2026” directly on the application.
2. “Can I borrow money to cover room and board?”
Absolutely. As long as it’s included in your school’s cost of attendance, room and board can be covered. Just check with your Financial Aid Office to make sure it’s listed, and include those expenses when selecting your loan amount.
3. “How long will the process take?”
On average, about 7–10 business days, depending on how quickly required documents are submitted and forms are completed. Our team works closely with families to keep things moving smoothly and efficiently.
4. “What documents do I need?”
Here’s what you and your cosigner should have ready:
- School name and branch
- Estimated loan amount
- One personal reference (name, address, phone number)
- Employer and income documentation
- Government-issued ID
- Social Security card
5. How are the funds sent to my school? Once everything is complete and signed, we send a certification request to your school. After verifying your enrollment and confirming the amount falls within the cost of attendance, your school will schedule disbursements. These are usually sent directly and electronically.
