Granite Edvance to award $750,000 in scholarships
Concord, NH – Granite Edvance is pleased to invite NH college and trade school students to apply for the 2025 Granite Edvance Scholarship. This year, the NH nonprofit is offering $750,000 in scholarships, its largest award yet, as part of its commitment to helping students plan and pay for their future pathways.
“Our annual scholarship is a highlight of our year because it’s at the heart of our mission of supporting NH students,” said Granite Edvance President and CEO Christiana Thornton. “We’re well acquainted with the real and growing challenges students face in paying for their education. We’re increasing our total scholarship amount again this year in an effort to have an even greater impact.”
Scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 will be awarded to NH residents studying at two- and four-year colleges and Title IV-eligible trade schools in or out of state. The deadline for four-year students is May 7, and the deadline for two-year students is July 9.
Granite Edvance, formerly the NHHEAF Network, has provided scholarships to hundreds of New Hampshire college students since the program began in 2005. In recent years, the statewide nonprofit has substantially increased its award amounts. Last year, the organization awarded $500,000 to 107 students, including 37 first-generation college students.
“This scholarship took a lot of weight off my shoulders,” said 2024 scholarship recipient Heather McCurdy, a student at Manchester Community College. “This is that cushion that allows me to just focus on my studies.”
Students can apply for scholarships in four categories: Leadership & Community Service, Academic Excellence, First Generation College Student, and Life Experience. Scholarship recipients will be chosen by a committee of Granite Edvance team members and announced in July.
